Latest Lichii Emulator Build & Changes
Lichii nx2 build 88 (55532f2)
Published November 6, 2026 · 55532f2d814215aaf32a76c214cf129f2cb6282b
Build-88 adds performance and synchronization changes, shader and pipeline caching improvements, FSR3 frame-generation fixes, and an enabled-by-default Dynamic FPS mod for Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It also documents a shutdown race that remains unfixed.
Open the release notesBuild change
Integrated performance ports and reduced unnecessary writer tracking; added explicit GPU-to-host visibility before buffer readback and submitted native desktop GPU work earlier while preserving conservative synchronization for macro reads and semaphore waits.
build-83 → build-88
Build change
Added bounded background preparation of cached graphics pipelines and persistent task/mesh shader state. Updated the Vulkan cache to v53 while preserving compatible v52 caches, and made interrupted cache migrations retryable.
build-83 → build-88
Build change
Fixed temporal history, motion interpolation, image transitions, and descriptor retirement for FSR3 frame generation; frame generation remains off by default.
build-83 → build-88
Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Bundled Dark's Dynamic FPS mod, enabled by default for Ocarina of Time. Disable it independently in the game's Add-Ons settings. Max Resolution remains a separate Add-On. CPU Clock Normal is recommended when evaluating the mod; Boost/Overclock can affect game speed. Full gameplay timing has not been verified.
build-83 → build-88
Ocarina of Time
Fixed missing vegetation, incorrect materials and lighting, a glowing doorway, one-frame white flashes, and an AMD black 3D scene. Added Max Resolution (built-in), enabled by default for the supported game build, and Ocarina-specific frame-ahead presentation tuning.
build-75 → build-83
Known issues in build-88
General issue: An existing fence-worker shutdown race can leave the emulator waiting during shutdown; it was reproduced during testing and is unchanged by this release. Find troubleshooting notes
How to Install Lichii Emulator
From download to first launch: take the path for your operating system, then make the controls your own.
Download and extract
Choose the Windows asset that matches your architecture, extract it to a stable folder, keep its companion files beside it, then start lichii.exe from that folder.
Run the published package
For an AppImage, make the downloaded file executable before launching it. For a tar.gz build, extract it with its companion files and check the release notes for any required system libraries.
Linux setupOpen the application bundle
Open the published macOS package, move the .app into Applications, then verify the official release source before the first launch.
Lichii Emulator FAQ
Where should I download Lichii?
Choose your operating system on the download page, then follow the link to the official GitHub file. Downloads come directly from the project.
Does the download include games?
No. Supply your own game files, keys, and firmware as required by the project. The emulator download does not include them.
Does a missing game report mean the game is unsupported?
Not necessarily. The game may simply have no test report yet. Check the project's GitHub issues for recent tests.
Do the recorded FPS numbers apply to my computer?
Your results can differ. Look for a report from the same build with hardware close to yours.
How do I verify a downloaded file?
Open the download or safety page, choose the matching official hash, and calculate the SHA-256 locally in your browser. The file is not uploaded.
Is there an Android APK?
No Android APK is listed among the current official release files. Avoid APKs advertised under the Lichii name unless they appear in the project's own release assets.
Does Lichii work on every Mac?
build-88 lists 2 macOS assets: lichii-macos-arm64.dmg, lichii-macos-arm64.zip. Release guidance: macOS arm64 package requires macOS 15 or newer.
Can I keep a working build while trying a new one?
Keep the new application in a separate folder and back up saves and configuration before switching. The setup guide covers getting started.
